Screen Shots

This screen shot shows two user defined views of a project's channels and the MeasureView window.  The control panel is in roll-up mode.  The views demonstrate the ability to select and order channels at will and the ability of the system to format channels within a view in a manner consistent with the particular subset of master channels within a view. Note: Zylaphon's channels are not midi channels though staff channels, both abstract and performance, map to midi channels.

Meters are a managed resource, meaning they are created within Zylaphon and may be shared among projects by export/import.  The Meter Manager allows users to define time signatures and their metric parsing (beat grouping) in this example 7 / 8 has been grouped  3 + 4.  The name is the default, Asymmetrical.  However the name should include the grouping.   Also, in this view, the control panel is open.

The AccentLevelProbabilityMatrixManager was written primarily to generate music-like score for testing formatting, but is gussied-up for use by those interested in deaf algorithmic processes -- by convention, a deaf process is one that does no analysis or correction of what it generates.   These matrices are also a managed resource.  When the channel view custom control is finished a popup score data entry control will be associated with each of the lettered buttons in the lower left corner.  At present this is functional only because patterns have been hard coded. Hiding the desktop is optional as shown, setting it uncovered is helpful when debugging.

The dialog for creating and editing a channel (set) view.  Eventually there will be a great variety of kinds of channels and of their effects.  The user will be able to freely mix and order all the kinds of channel views into view sets. in group channel views into selectable working sets that focus on a given aspect of composition.

One begins a new project by creating an initial master channel set.

The mode and key manager is a quick and dirty job done to allow testing of key signature formatting and the MeasureView window.  It does not provide for user definitions of new modes.

 BUTTON CONVENTIONS :

Quasi-metallic buttons indicate actions or processes that deal with musical elements of the project. Colored shaded buttons indicate general services actions: Opening, saving, closing, files or data objects ;   switching to edit mode;  accepting the results of a dialog etc.  Un-shaded buttons are often used for actions that affect display and appearance of the project.
